Robert Huth says why Leicester City has been struggling in this season

Leicester City attracted the attention of the world of football during the Premier League season of 2015-16 as they emerged as the champions for the very first time in the history of the club and with the guidance of Claudio Ranieri, it finally happened.

It was a historic and memorable season for Leicester City as they overcame all the odds and shocked the world by lifting the English Premier League title.

The English Premier League is currently going through its season of 2016-17 and things has not been going so impressively for Leicester City as they have unfortunately not been able to replicate their consistency and impressive amount of performances as their previous campaign and Robert Huth believes that he knows one of the reasons of why this is happening.

According to RoberthHuth, the recent drop of form that Leicester City has experienced in this current season is because of the departure of N’GoloKante who was offloaded to Chelsea for a price tag of £32 million on July 16 of 2016.

N’ GoloKante played a huge role in the historic season of Leicester City as the French midfielder made 37 appearances and was even named as one of the 4 players of the club into the PFA Team of the Year. The French player was one of the most consistent performers in the entire Premier League during the season of 2015-16 and even though Leicester City offloaded him for a hefty amount of cash, they have not been able to find another midfielder with his equal characteristics or skills.

Robert Huth is certain that the absence of N’ GoloKante can be felt by Leicester City and it’s because of this that they have not been able to perform as impressively as the previous season.

‘’You can see what he is doing at Chelsea, he is an unbelievable player. We miss him, absolutely, there is no two ways about it he was awesome for us when he was here.” Robert Huth said.

Is RoberthHuth’s international career over?

Robert Huth has been receiving notoriety for his string of impressive performances with his club as the German defender was one of the most important figures in the historic season of Leicester City as they sealed the Premier League title in the season of 2015-16.

The German defender only missed 3 league matches in Leicester City’s title winning season and for a player at his elevated age, this is a fairly impressive feat to accomplish.

There is no doubt whatsoever that Robert Huth’s club career is going in a positive way and even though Leicester City are currently struggling in the bottom spots of the Premier League, what Robert Huth and the rest of his teammates did in the previous season is something that will forever be remembered in the history of Leicester City as well as English football.

Unfortunately for the veteran defender, his international career is not going as impressively as he has not made a single performance for Germany since 2009 and there is a high probability that Huth will not be making another competitive appearance for his national side ever again.

One of the reasons of why Huth might not get called up to play for Germany again is due to his age as he will be turning 32 years old in August which is significantly higher than Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng as each of them are 27 years old.

Boateng and Hummels are the usual starters in the defensive backline of the German national football team. The rest of the national team pool that is available for Joachim Low consists of youngsters which includes: ShkodranMustafi, Matthias Ginter, Jonathan Tah and Antonio Rudiger, they all range from 20 to 24 years of age and are promising stars.

The 2018 edition of the FIFA World Cup is on the horizon and despite his amazing campaign with Leicester City, there simply are better options at the disposal of Joachim Low and he will need the best of whatever he has in order to compete against other national sides.

HUTH PRAISES FORMER TEAMMATE KANTE

Leicester City defender Robert Huth has praised his former teammate N’Golo Kante following his impressive performances for Chelsea sine his switch to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Both players played for the Foxes in their fairy tale season last year before the France international opted to move away from Kings Power Stadium.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte paid £32 million for the midfielder during the summer and the player has lived up to expectations with his brilliant display this term. Huth disclosed his admiration for the player despite his exit from Leicester.

“I think N’Golo Kante is the best player in the Premier League,” Huth sensationally exclaimed.
Chelsea are set to continue their winning streak when they face West Brom in the Premier League. Since the change in tactics, the Blues have gone on to win nine straight games and are set to break the club’s all time wining streak of 11. Kante has been a key part of the 3-4-3 formation Conte has been employing. With the absence of distractions, Chelsea are poised to go far in their title chase this season.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville was all praise for Kante as well after Chelsea humbled Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 3-1. Diego Costa stole the show but Nevilled opined that Kante was the one.

“I gave Diego Costa the man of the match but I’ve got to mention N’Golo Kante. N’Golo Kante was brilliant,” the Sky Sports pundit said.

Chelsea are currently topping the standings due to their brilliant run in Conte’s debut season. Despite a slow start, the team has established itself as a team to beat this term. All the other top sides that started well seem to be bowing to Chelsea’s superiority and the confidence in the team is off the roof.

SPURS CONTINUE STRUGGLE UPFRONT

Tottenham Hotspurs have been struggling upfront this season.

The goals have not been coming in as many would expect, particularly for a side that is keen on winning the Premier League this term. The team has the defence to win the title considering how they have limited their opponents from scoring. It took them ten games o concede goals from open play. However, the goals have dried upfront since the injury to main striker Harry Kane.

They should be placing much higher on the current standings in the Premier League but for the blunt attacking performance of the team. They allowed defending EPL Champions, Leicester City equalize to share the spoils when they both met in the league on October 29.

Vincent Janssen has not proved to be a great buy for Coach Mauricio Pochettino yet. However, the 22-year old player got the opening goal for Spurs through a penalty caused by a Robert Huth foul.

For a well-coordinated Spurs side, it was surprising that they let Leicester pull one back through a slip. Victor Wanyama has been brilliant for Tottenham but he caused the error, allowing Ahmed Musa to capitalize and get the equalizer. Musa was lively throughout the affair and the goal seems to be his reward.

“We need to be more clinical. We need to score more,” Pochettino confessed after the game.
Spurs have gone five matches without a victory. Leicester showed their determination in turning things around, and they got the result they wanted at White Hart Lane – where Spurs gave Pep Guardiola his first Premier League loss.

The goal would be a confidence boost when Leicester play FC Copenhagen on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League. They still have a long way to go if they are to maintain their growing status in the Premier league. Riyad Mahrez has not been as impressive as last term and Jamie Vardy’s goals seem not to be flowing as last season.

Robert Huth says Arsenal Indirectly Spurred Them to the Title

Leicester City managed a shock title win last season, but defender Robert Huth claims that it may have not been possible without the help from Arsenal.

Back in February, Leicester faced Arsenal away at the Emirates stadium and this was seen as a big test for the title credentials of the relative unknowns. Leicester lost the game through a goal from Danny Welbeck. Huth says that the entire squad was deflated due to the loss, but they were greeted with gloating selfies from Arsenal players after the game.

This apparently spurred the team back into life, and Huth has described the amazing scenes where they went on an amazing run thereafter. As the underdogs, Huth reveals that the reaction from Arsenal gave an extra edge to their game. This proved to be the difference in the next few weeks of the campaign that were so crucial in putting Manchester City out of contention. Spurs were the last challengers left in the title race last season and they were dealt emphatically with a run of 1-0 wins that demoralised the opposition. This season, though, Leicester have been struggling as many expected. Following a heavy loss against Manchester United last weekend, they managed to return to winning ways with a comfortable win over Burnley.

“For me the key point was when we lost to Arsenal. Everyone was celebrating, they were doing selfies. Even though we were still top. A few of the lads stuck a few those pictures up and it got the blood boiling. It gave us an extra yard in the next few games,” said Huth. The experience of the German was a major factor in sustaining the results towards the end of the season. Due to their lack of experience when it comes to a title race, Huth offered them great help in this regard.

Robert Huth is an indispensable figure for Claudio Ranieri

Robert Huth played a crucial part in Leicester City’s Premier League winning season during their campaign of 2015-16 and the German defender is expected to once again be in the heart of Claudio Ranieri’sdefence as the next season is edging closer and closer.

Standing at 6’3, Huth is a powerful defender who has been receiving non-stop praise for everything that he has accomplished since joining: ‘’The Foxes’’ back in February of 2015 which is the time when the experienced centre-back originally joined on a season long loan deal and after a string of impressive performances, he was offered a permanent contract and Huth has not disappointed.

Leicester City recently played the finals of the 2016 English FA Community Shield as they faced off with Manchester United at the Wembley Stadium and a late goal from the recent signing of Jose Mourinho, ZlatanIbrahimovic edged out the victory for the Red Devils as the Portuguese coach secured his first piece of silverware as the manager of Manchester United.

Even though Leicester City lost the match it still was an intense match that had to be decided in the last few minutes with a late goal from the Swedish giant ZlatanIbrahimovic making the difference as Manchester United just barely managed to scrap a 2-1 triumph.

Robert Huth was one of the few defenders of Leicester City who managed to keep up with the attacking forces of Manchester United as he kept both Wayne Rooney and Ibrahimovic at bay with limited options for the majority of the match.

The defensive partner of Huth, Wes Morgan got outmatched by Ibrahimovic as the veteran attacker managed to score the winning goal for Manchester United while Danny Simpson made a few mistakes and picked up a rather unnecessary yellow card after tackling Wayne Rooney.

It’s quite extraordinary to see a player who joined not even 2 years ago and already has so much of an influence and impact with a team but this is the case with Robert Huth as he is arguably one of the most important players of Leicester City and they will need to him to be at his best in order to defend their Premier League title.

Robert Huth Due For New Contract

Robert Huth is being offered a new deal by Leicester.

The new deal would be part of the strategy of the club to secure the future of the squad that has won several titles. Leicester has seen Robert be a pivotal figure in lifting the trophy of the Premier League. He is now being offered a new contract by the club. The new contract comes before 12 months are over for the Leicester City player who has helped the club to be champions of the Premier League.

Due to the trophy winning performance of the club, they are ready to offer new contract terms for the German defender. He has played a pivotal role in the last season that turned out to be remarkable for the club. Huth had initially signed on a three year deal with a wage amount of £40,000 per week. He joined Stoke City for an amount of £3million. He emerged as a key member of the team at 31 years of age as soon as the last season began.

Hence, he has been earmarked as a player who will be given a pay rise this year. Most fans remember the moment that the club lifted the Premier League trophy. There were other players too, like Wes Morgan, Riyad Mahrez and others who are also expected to negotiate for a raise this summer. Huth had initially been signed on loan to the club which occurred in January. There had been a relegation threat which the player also helped the club immensely. Huth is definitely one of the players that the club wishes to retain and it is hoped that the negotiations will go well. While the club is ready to negotiate, they cannot pay as well as Chelsea, United or City but they are hopeful that they will provide great opportunities to these players if they play well.

Robert Huth may get Worst Decision from Football Association

The Football Association is expected to come up with a decision regarding Robert Huth later today and it is most likely that the Toffees centre half will be handed a suspension.

Huth appeared to be getting a little violent with the opposition player Marouane Fellaini in an away match against Manchester United last month.

Huth was angry with Fellaini for some reason and he seemed to be dragging him by his hairs.

The reaction on that was obviously not going to be polite from the Manchester United player. He lost his temper as well and elbowed Huth which was also an act of violence.

But, because of the fact that the provocation had come from Huth, he is being viewed as the bigger offender.

Louis Van Gaal, the Red Devils manager, also endorses that opinion.
As per Van Gaal, if somebody’s hair is pulled in the manner it was done, it’s only normal that the person will react.

However, in spite of him being provoked or whatever, elbowing someone is always condemnable and thus, for doing that, Fellaini is also under the microscope of the Football Association.
Generally, in these sorts of offences, the suspension happens to be of 3 matches.

If that is what has to happen in this case too, then Huth will have no further role to play in the on-going season as not more than 3 matches have left for Everton to play in the Premiership and they are not contending in any other competition.

However, talking about Manchester United, they are alive in FA Cup right now and are in the final which is on 21st of May. So, considering that, Fellaini’s season would not be over even if he has to be out for 3 matches as he can still take part in that final.

Ritchie de Laet could enjoy the rare possibility of winning Premier League

Ritchie de Laet could enjoy the rare possibility of winning both the Premier League and Championship medals at the same time.

He is currently with Middlesbrough in the Championship. The team may have slipped out of the top in recent weeks, but there is a very good chance of Middlesbrough still ending up as well Championship winners. However, the former Manchester United defender joined the Championship team only in January and he will spend time until the end of the season as he is only on a loan deal.

However, he is also eligible of the Premier League medal after having represented Leicester City in 12 matches. Only five games are required for a player to win a Premier League medal should his team enjoy the success. . The club were one of the favourites for relegation at the start of the campaign.

However, Claudio Ranieri has masterminded a brilliant campaign to build on from last season’s finish. Leicester avoided relegation in impressive fashion by showing title form towards the end of last season. This helped the club move away from the bottom of the table at Christmas to safety with a couple of matches left. The club took advantage of some fantastic restaurant offers in Manchester for their Christmas party.

Leicester have a five-point advantage in the league table with only eight matches left. Furthermore, they have an easy run of games than Tottenham in the second spot. It is realistically seen as a fight between the two teams for the title, as the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City have fallen more than 10 points behind. Middlesbrough, meanwhile, have managed only two wins in the last five games. This could potentially threaten their ability to win the Championship. Burnley are top after having opened a six-point advantage in recent weeks and are now on course to the title.

Robert Huth breaks Premier League record

The 31 year old defender of Leicester City, Robert Huth has carved his name in the history books of the Premier League after becoming the German player with most appearances in the top tier English League. Robert Huth is a consistent starter for Leicester City and has helped the club in reaching the top spots of the league with impressive performances.

Dietmar Hamann was the former holder of this record but Robert Huth surpassed it after the player of Leicester City recorded his 269th appearance in the Premier League during the 3-0 triumph of his club against Swansea City. The former goal-keeper Jens Lehmann is currently standing in 3rd place of most appearances done by a German in the Premier League with a total of 148 appearances.

Robert Huth has turned into one of the best signings of Leicester City in recent times as the German defender joined the Premier League club back in June of 2015 for a fee which is believed to be around of £3 million and has consistently been performing at a high level.

In the season when Huth officially joined Leicester City, the German played helped City in going from being placed in the bottom spots of the Premier League to securing the 14th spot and now Leicester City is positioned in the higher section of the English League which has taken the world of football by surprise.

Huth began his professional playing career in Chelsea where he managed to make his debut at the age of 17 but his time in Stamford Bridge did not last a very long period of time as his chances of snatching a consistent spot in the first team of the club was limited due to all of the competition that he faced. John Terry, William Gallas and Ricardo Carvalho were the main defenders of the team at that time and this forced Huth on having to stay on the sidelines for a long period of time.
The German defender eventually left Chelsea and went on to join Middlesbrough, Stoke City and his current club Leicester City and has turned into one of the main figures of the team.
