HUTH: FOOTBALL CAREER IN SUMMARY

West London club Chelsea signed Robert Huth from the youth team at German club Union Berlin in 2001 while Italian tactician Claudio Ranieri was the Blues boss. Huth began his Chelsea career in the youth team before he was promoted to the first team. In the Chelsea first team, he struggled for playing time as he was behind John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho and William Gallasin the centre back positions.


Robert Huthleft Chelsea to sign for Middlesbrough in August 2006. Boro paid around £6m to sign the German central defender from Chelsea. He signed for Stoke City for a then club-record transfer fee of £5m on the back of his three-year spell at Boro.
