Robert Huth has been receiving notoriety for his string of impressive performances with his club as the German defender was one of the most important figures in the historic season of Leicester City as they sealed the Premier League title in the season of 2015-16.

The German defender only missed 3 league matches in Leicester City’s title winning season and for a player at his elevated age, this is a fairly impressive feat to accomplish.

There is no doubt whatsoever that Robert Huth’s club career is going in a positive way and even though Leicester City are currently struggling in the bottom spots of the Premier League, what Robert Huth and the rest of his teammates did in the previous season is something that will forever be remembered in the history of Leicester City as well as English football.

Unfortunately for the veteran defender, his international career is not going as impressively as he has not made a single performance for Germany since 2009 and there is a high probability that Huth will not be making another competitive appearance for his national side ever again.

One of the reasons of why Huth might not get called up to play for Germany again is due to his age as he will be turning 32 years old in August which is significantly higher than Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng as each of them are 27 years old.

Boateng and Hummels are the usual starters in the defensive backline of the German national football team. The rest of the national team pool that is available for Joachim Low consists of youngsters which includes: ShkodranMustafi, Matthias Ginter, Jonathan Tah and Antonio Rudiger, they all range from 20 to 24 years of age and are promising stars.

The 2018 edition of the FIFA World Cup is on the horizon and despite his amazing campaign with Leicester City, there simply are better options at the disposal of Joachim Low and he will need the best of whatever he has in order to compete against other national sides.
